Synthesis and Surface Properties of Anionic Gemini Surfactant of N, N′-Dipalmitoyl-Ethylenediamine-Diacetic Acid, Sodium Salt

Abstract:

Anionic Gemini surfactant, N, N′ Dipalmitoyl ethylenediamine diacetic Acid, sodium salt, is synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and 1HNMR. The critical micelle concentration (cmc) has been determined by means of surface tension measurements. Wettability of the surfactant aqueous solution on silica gel is far better than that of dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid, sodium salt.
