Abstract

in this paper, thedesign and implementation ofthesynchronization algorithmsin alldigitalcommunicationreceiversareintroduced.ThefixedpointtimingrecoveryalgorithmbasedontheGardnerfeedbackloopapproachandthecarrierrecoveryalgorithmusingdigitalCostaslooparerealizedviaAlteraDSPBuilder.BoththecomputersimulationandtheFPGArealizationdemonstratethevalidityofthealgorithms.ResultsshowthattherealizedsystemhasgoodperformancewiththeSNRdegradationlessthan15dB,theacquisitionrangesoftimingrecoveryandcarrierrecoverylargerthan±1% and±4%,respectively.
