On the origin of Monocotyledonae from comparative studies of the chemical constituents
Yang Tsung-Ren, Chow Jun
1978, 16 (1): 1-9.
Abstract ( 0 )
Through the comparative studies of alkaloids, steroids, triterpenoids, cyanogenic
glucosides and fatty acids in the relevant orders of Monocotyledonae and “Nymphaeales”,and Ranunculaceae, the authors point out the close phylogenetic relationship between
the Ranunculaceae and Liliales.  They support the hypothesis that Liliales, the oldest
primitive Monocotyledonae, was originated from Ranunculaceae, and they disagree
with the view point of Takhtajan who advocated that Alismales evolved from Cabom-
baceae.

A preliminary study on the major plant communities and its vertical distribution of Guhsiang region in south-eastern Tibet

Abstract ( 0 )
In this paper, The major plant communities  and its  vertical  distribution  in
Guhsiang region of southeastern Tibet are describted as follows:
     1.  In accordance with the conditions of coefficient of similarity of the species
between narrow belts, the vertical vegetational distribution on the southern and nor-
thern slopes of Guhsiang region may be divided into eight zones (fig. 1).
     2.  The seven types of plant communities are describted.  The relationships bet-
ween the distribution of plant communities and humidity-warmth conditions are shown
(fig. 2)
     3.  Being affected by different humidity-warmth conditions, the differences bet-
ween vegetation zones in numbers of species are rather well-marked (table 3).
