Abstract:

The red pigment producing strain Monascus was mutagenized by 10 keV N+ ion implantation. After the optimal mutation dose was determined, one high yielding strain was bred through two rounds of mutagensis. The red pigment yield increases 38.1 %, and its tone is good. The ferment characteristic of the strain was also studied
