Coverless text steganography over social media based on IFF and HMAC*

Abstract: Coverless steganography methods possess better unreadable and invisible properties for information hiding, but many existing methods are difficult to apply in practice due to high storage overhead and the inadaptation to real-world communication environments. To address these issues, this article proposes a practical coverless text steganography method and builds a viable application in the Twitter environment. Compared with existing methods, the proposed method performs better in terms of success rate, ease of use, security, and capacity. It can adapt to various scenarios through a wide range of carrier type choices, better meeting the requirements of secret information transmission.
